im done reading on this subject, but i do have two parting comments regarding it.
1.) Nobody can get you do to anything like this; you have to already be there. That being said, as an admin here, I feel a sense of heightened 'responsibility' (for lack of a better word) having the 'power' I do (which by and large is none). Those administrators and moderators over there, TROLL OR NOT, imo should have had more a hand in on this guy. You lock his ability to post, therefore quelling the fire before it’s fanned, whatever, you DO SOMETHING.
2.) And this one I will act on. On Monday after I talk with my buddy who is a sheriff down in Tampa, I am going to get the phone numbers of the local sheriff department that handled the 911 and emergency calls and tear some new assholes. The whole point of 911 I thought was that its an emergency, and I was always under the impression that if a 911 call came in THEY HAVE TO INVESTIGATE IT. Why the fuck it took more than 5 calls from different people before that fucking fucked up department decided that they needed to take this seriously is beyond me. As a taxpayer that in an indirect way, SIGNS that paycheck (yes I know, I refer to my own in Cali), it fucking disgusts me that they had a policy of NONACTION first.
Again, nobody out there is goddamn responsible in the direct for what he did, imo, but if there’s anyone that the public should have been able to depend upon to help PREVENT, I would have been the first to say it’s the police.
Way to go you fucking idiots. way to boost my faith that if I’ve got an emergency, someone on the other end of the line is going to take me seriously.
I’m calling 911 for gods SAKES, it’s not to order a fucking pizza you incompetent clowns.

when a 911 call comes in..either by landline, payphone or a block range via cell phone (and sometimes reported via textmail or other internet sources) an officer will do either an area check if they have only a range to work with, or they'll go to the known source of the call to check.
you'd be surprised how many accidental 911 call come in to a given city every day.. it's in the hundreds if not more depending on size

no, i understand that, for sure. but i do belive that at the min, dont they call back to make sure?
and from what i was reading, this wasnt a matter of a mistake call either, but multiple people expressing true concern, and they were either routed to someone else, or completely blown off.
i see that as quite different.
but hey what i do i know, i certianly have never worked in the force, im just a mere hippy from cali... *smile*

Also, its the internet, so "egging someone on" to committ suicide seems like a reasonable response. There is a 99% chance the person is fucking around anyway so why not fuck around back?

i agree that the internet is the wild west, and i again say, that the moderators and administrators of WEBSITES and FORUMS, have a heightened responsibility to be involved. if you open your GODDAMN DOOR to the public, its YOUR FUCKING RESPONSIBILITY to make sure that the other side of that door is SAFE FOR EVERYONE. otherwise make it private.
and dont read that as you need to nerf your entire existence, dummies will be dummies. but if you have the self proclamed power or have been given the power, then goddamnit, you need to realize that your have a slightly higher requirement than the GP.
3rd,
poor girl is poor girl. im sure her life is hard enough as it is.

shit.. posting a live feed of himself disconnecting his brain with that mother..
t'would be epic.
and yes.. when there is a 911 hangup call incoming.. the first thing the dispatcher does is attempt to call back to determine wtf is going on.
as I mentioned.. accidental 911 calls are EXTREMELY common.. but when they can't determine everything is code 4.. they'll send out an officer to do a check.
usually, it's a hassle when a kid is fucking with the phone or the cat mashes the buttons..but there ARE times that it pays off and people are helped when otherwise, they'd be dead.
