You can stream their vids and stuff here: http://www.kasabian.co.uk/releases/ Dont think too much of the vids tbh, but the live vids are always cool. Just found out they are headlining the Vfestival this summer, Im on it.

Hell, it helped me find band's who's CD's I went out and purchased. But I thought there was a big uproar about the Dead no longer being available there? Reading the Taping policy, is it just that certain shows will no longer be avail? (Lavatla-recorded soon-to-be-Dick's-Picks releases?)

DIJYAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHE!!!! FLOOD CUNTROLLLLLL! Since you bring up WSP, let's discuss: is WSP truly WSP without Michael Houser? I say no. Haven't been interested in anything they've done since he died.

Haven't been interested in anything they've done since he died. First, response to your question. I still like their stuff... but I don't own anything newer than Night of Joy... and looking at the discography, have they released anything after that was "new material"? http://www.widespreadpanic.com/widespreadrecords/discography/ ...My point is, I don't even know if they've recorded new material since Mikee passed on, have they? Second, we need to get this question in front of the General, cuz he's a big Panic fan as well. He's sat in the School Zone way more times than I have. Third, since we are just a c_nt-hair away from hi-jacking your own thread, its probably time to ask NRG for Dead Head Forum in the [Off Topic] section, but we need a cool name, like "Dude... its cashed", or "Tapers Ticket" or something... Help me out with a name Dick/General!!!

I don't know if they've released anything new, either...but my desire to see them perform has disappeared. There are two possible outcomes of a WSP show post-Houser: 1) New gee-tar man tries to imitate Houser's distinct sound. 2) New gee-tar man injects his own sound, making classic Panic suck donkey balls. Take "Diner" from Light Fuse, Get Away. Can you imagine some other schmuck on the axe???

"Oh in time, time, time, I just love to watch her hands move A little sugar, pepper, llittle brother wants to shine my shoes..." Light Fuse & Get Away = one of the top 5 ultimate live recordings of all time!!! Fucking LOVE the piano-play between Pilgrims > Space Wrangler! Another one of those beautiful moments of clarity when you've just followed Alice down the rabbit hole.

I remember the phone ringing. I remember grabbing it and heading out to the front steps to smoke a ciggy butt. It was sunny, hot; a typically blazing August day. I remember answering the phone and hearing the words "Michael Houser died." I actually cried. I spent the next two days listening to Light Fuse, Get Away and just being the absolute definition of the word bummed.

ORIGINAL: unKind-Bud Second, we need to get this question in front of the General, cuz he's a big Panic fan as well. He's sat in the School Zone way more times than I have. I saw WP about 60 times or so from '97 thru '02 & they were some of the best times I have ever had (the parts I remember that is ) I have seen WP 2 times since Houser died. While I like George McConnell & think he is an adequate guitar player he is not Michael Houser. None of the songs I love sound the same with him on guitar like: Pilgrims, Pigeons, Holden Oversoul (do they even do that one anymore?), Sleepy Monkey, Diner, etc... The funny thing is a lot of Panic-freaks always used to bitch about Houser & how unanimated he was. "Why does he sit down the whole show?" "Why doesn't he play louder?" "Wah Wah Wah!" I never joined in this bullshit because I thought his sound was really cool & totally unique & I don't give a rat's ass if he sits down or stands on his fucking head the whole damn show. I'm not here to look at him I'm here to listen to him! So yeah, I used to dig Panic alot but don't really care to see them live anymore. They're actually doing their tour opener here in Raleigh at Walnut Creek (on April 21st - one day late ) but I doubt I'll go. I'll just listen to my pre-2002 CDs... This is smilar to how I feel about the Dead anywhere after the year 1980. Once they got rid of Keith & Donna-Jean & brought on Brent Midland their sound went straight down the toilet. I have 0 Dead shows after 1980. 1977 was probably their best year IMO...

"Wah Wah Wah!" Michael Houser had a world-class case of stage fright. His nickname among his friends was "Panic," hence the band name. He sat down with his hair in his face so he could block out the crowd and just focus on his playing. People who complained about Mikey not moving obviously wasn't busy listening to the absolute fucking magic coming off of his fingers.

Hey Koz, whats the deal with that 'Last.fm' site? Is it just a log of what youve been downloading? Do you actually pay for tracks? I had a little browse through and saw you been checking out 'Lush', I was into them in the 90s, I had a big thing for female fronted UK indie bands. If you like Lush, you should check out 'Sleeper', 'EchoBelly', 'Elastica' and 'Garbage'. Fuck it Ill upload a couple for you now..... Oh my? Id forgotten how girly these tracks were... Lush: Ladykiller Sleeper: Nice guy Eddie Sleeper: What Do I Do Now Sleeper: Sale Of The Century
